Review for Meade Children's 28-piece Starter's Microscope Kit - 08019

   This was for the grandchildren. Sturdy metal. Many ways to adjust the aperture and lenses. The slides and other tools interested the children. Plenty of magnification. Had a problem with the lighted mirror. The bulb was loose and intermittent, and the bulbs are not available in the hardware store. Had to patch the light with 2-sided tape to get it to make contact. But other than that it was a great buy.

 Seemed like a good idea. Probably a good starter for kids to at least see if there is any real interest in using a microscope. However, my microscope was broken. The light source didn't work and therefore we got almost no use out of it and had to return it for an upgrade.

The product was what I expected for the price I paid the service from the company was excellent.

   I wanted an easy, simple and low cost microscope to do some initial microscopic examinations I wanted to do for some time. This good-looking starter microscope MEADE 8200 was great for the purpose and I was satisfied. The purchase experience with OpticsPlanet was very pleasant, the delivery was fast and earlier than I expected. All in all, a good starter microscope and a good website to buy optics devices.

   I bought this microscope starter kit for my son for his birthday, and he hasn't stopped "playing" with it since he got it! He loves looking at all kinds of different stuff, and the microscope is easy enough for a small child to use (once given instruction), but it's also sophisticated enough that adults can have a good time "researching," too! There is certainly nothing juvenile about the image and magnification quality of this microscope! Who knows-- maybe my son has found his calling in the laboratory!

   I got this microscope for my daughter for her birthday. Ever since they learned about cells in school she has asked me to buy her a microscope so she could do "research" as she calls it. She has been looking at cells of different leaves, human tissue, and anything else she finds around the house. I'm just a happy mom who loves to see her daughter spend so much time on something besides tv and video games.

  Excellent purchase for the money. Has all the features needed- excellent optics, mechanical stage, adjustable light, diaphram, filters and oil for high mag.. The scope is easy to use even for my 8 year old and professional enough for my 12th grader. Compared it with other sites it was atleast $50 cheaper. I do not feel I compromised any quality by choosing this site.

  Great microscope, quality optics, solid construction, excellent value.

   At first, i was very pleased with the microscope. I am still upset about being charged shipping fees when the product was clearly bundled with a slide product that was shipped later since the slides were not available when the microscope was shipped. 

   The instructions were a little unclear as to how to set up, but I knew from setting up another microscope. Great microscope though, better then the ones at my university.
